one more :)

3 months old

Today Saw Man is 3 months old. Oh my goodness, my little baby is getting so big. Seriously, his arms and legs are too long for 3 months old clothes already. I have to go today to buy him some new onesies. Today he also hit a very exciting milestone....he rolled over. He was having his tummy time, and he rolled over. I was so excited. Unfortunately his daddy didnt get to see it, so we've been trying to get him to do it again, but he hasn't yet.

This past week Jon and I also took the train to Portland to see one of our favorite comedians...Ben Bailey (also known as the host of the tv show cash cab). We decided to go to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Our anniversary was on Jan 2nd, but we decided to celebrate it a little late so we could go to this show. It was an awesome train ride, that we both slept the whole 3 hours. We stayed in a Red Lion Hotel (my cousin works there so was able to get us a family discount). We jsut went for one night. We didnt even go out into the town at all, we mostly just went to get a break and sleep. We were so pathetic though, we layed in our hotel bed, each on our cell phones looking at pictures of Sawyer, and missing him. Oh jeez we have become "those" people. haha. The next day we even paid a little extra to get the earlier train home to return to our little sea saw. Sawyer stayed with his Oma and Opa and had so much fun. My mom learned quickly how often Sawyer blows out his pants, and how often you have to change his clothes.

Sawyer also got to spend some time with his cousin J.J. He and Libby came to visit from San Diego. We always love when they can come up for a visit. Brian gets home from deployment at the end of April so hopefully the next time all 3 of them can come.

Kevin just left again for Germany. So we will miss him again for a few weeks. We pray and hope he is safe while he is over there.

Sawyer playing!

Saw Man is starting to reach for things, grab things (including yanking out my hair), he likes to look at things intently. He loves to watch the panda on his bouncy seat that his Nana bought him. We have named him Peter Panda. Either Sawyer really likes Panda's or he is going to be right handed becuase it is hanging about him the right. He NEVER looks at the bear on his left. I was hoping he would be left handed like his mom though. :) We got him this play mat, which he just loves to sit and watch the toys hanging above him. He also gets really excited about watching this video, also that his Nana bought him...it shows shapes, animals, and colors and Sawyer talks to the video, cause he just loves it so much. He is growing so much, I just cant believe it. He is wearing 3 months clothes, yet his arms and legs are a bit long for some of them. He is long limbed like his daddy and uncle Jeremy. Everyone comments on what a "chill" baby we have. Of course I dont have any other children to compare him to, but yes he does seem to be really chill. But man alive, when he is hungry, he is sure to let us know. Jon and I actually cant help but laugh when he does his hunger cry cause its just so intense, yet so cute. lol.

On another note, I have to mention, the change that I have gone through as a person since being a mother. I have always been such a "Doer." Its hard for me to relax, sit still, not be accomplishing things, not working out, not cleaning, etc etc. Now that I have Sawyer, I have learned and accepted that I may only get 1 workout a week, or the dishes may not get done, or the poor doggies may not get a walk, and normally this would all drive me crazy...but I look at Sawyer and think "its ok if im a little pudgier than I once was, or my house isnt as clean, or Im not working as much and have to buy fewer latte's :). I mean dont get me wrong, I still have moments where its hard, but I can't imagine now my life without this little man. God is so big and so good. He knew what Sawyer would bring to my life, and Jon's. Jon is the most amazing father already. I love watching him with Sawyer. And Jon is so helpful and loving to me when I need a break. We are a good team. Ok ok I just thought Id be sappy for a minute. hehe.

We love and miss our Virginia family. I hope you keep updated through this. And we love to Skype with you. Cant wait for the whole family to meet our little man.

Update...New Year!!

Lots to update on since I havnt written in awhile.

Today is Jon and my 1st wedding anniversary. Wow...what a year. I cannot believe that we got married and had a baby both in 2010. We will never forget this year. It was so fun to celebrate the holidays with a new baby. It just changed the meaning and focus for us. Holidays will now be all about Sawyer (and future kids) from now on. Sawyer already got spoiled this christmas. Mostly from his oma and opa and nana and papa. Jon and I didnt even really get him anything since he cant open gifts, but family and friends still got him stuff, which is great for us too :)

Today my mom and I brought Sawyer to the pool at the YMCA. He actually seemed to really like it, but I noticed that his bottom lip was quivering and his arms started to turn blue...so I thought I better get the little man to warmth. But it was a great first try. He wore those little water diaper things, but the smallest they had was for 16lbs and hes probably only about 13lbs now so they were huge on him.

Ive been back to work a little while now. Im working about 3 days a week. I do think its good for me to work some. It gives me a reason to do my hair and put some makeup on, and get a break out of the house, but its so hard to be away from him. Jon and I seem to be getting our routine with him down. And we are doing a good job of communicating through this parenthood stuff. It is still so very exhausting. I know everyone warned me, but i dont think you can ever prepare yourself for the fatigue. I dont think I have had a full nights sleep since my 2nd trimester of pregnancy. Im exhausted. Not just with Sawyer, but with two misbehaved dogs, and cleaning, and laundry. Oh my, I have officially become a wife and mother. :)
My focus this week is trying to cook new and healthier things for Jon. He doesnt really like to eat the same foods that I do, so Im trying to figure things out that I can cook for his lunches, and for nights that Im working. Cause he likes to just order pizza when im not home, and then I feel guilty for not being a good wife and feeding him better haha. So I've been keeping busy finding recipes online, and trying family recipes etc etc.

Ok dont wanna bore you with too much stuff. Here are some pics, and i have a few videos to upload too, which Ill do later.
